Syncretism: The combination or fusion of multiple beliefs or practices often in contradiction to one another. In one sense, this is a definition of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Revelation 2:14
Israel ate things sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality by going through with an arranged political marriage between Zimri, prince of the Simeonites and Cozbi, princess of the Midianites.
Sacrifices eaten at the marriage party were improperly sacrificed and done so to demons. As the party went on into several evenings, fornication was going on between the Israelites and Midianites.

Balaam was a master gnostic syncretist who set out to destroy the nation of Israel. Simon Magus was a master christian gnostic syncretist who set out to destroy the Church of God.

God’s statute concerning the Year of Jubilee ensured that Israelite society would never become financially lop-sided with an extremely wealthy class and a mass population of displaced poor people.
In Baal worship and society, everything is for sale…everything has a price. Nimrod gathered the people into cities, promising them ‘cradle to grave’ welfare from the State. By this rejection of God, Nimrod enslaved the people, creating a population of landless peasant workers.

In order to return Israel to its greatness under David and Solomon, Omri practiced syncretism with his foreign neighbors. He defeated Tibni during a civil war in Israel (I Kings 16:21-23) and then established a peace alliance with Asa, King of Judah.
I Kings 16:24-34
Omri forged an alliance with Ethbaal, King of Sidonia, and sealed it with a political marriage between his son, Ahab and Ethbaal’s daughter, Jezebel.
Omri purchased the Hill of Shemer and built his new capital, Samaria. This was a purchase, not a lease. Omri abandoned the year of Jubilee and what it represented.

Even Solomon went after Ashtoreth, goddess of the Sidonians (Jezebel’s homeland).
The statute of Omri was the rejection of the Year of Jubilee and the acceptance of Baal Law which included the idea that everything is for sale and has a price. Omri began a process of social engineering in Israel transforming it into another gentile society in which Israel would not recover from.
A ‘work of Ahab’s house’ is a continuation of Omri’s statute that establishes ‘Eminent Domain’, a Baal Law that gives kings the right to confiscate land at will. ( I Kings 21)
Jezebel, princess of Sidonia and now queen in Israel, brought her 450 priests and priestesses of Baal in order to transform Israelite society into a nation like Sidonia.
Isaiah 5:8-9, 3:14-15
The violation and abandonment of one statute, the year of Jubilee, opened the flood gates for all sorts of brutal oppressive means of driving others into abject poverty for the sake of unchecked wealth and power.
