Musician Marc Chouarain generates a brief demonstration and overview of a fascinating instrument called a Cristal Baschet, which he abuses when arranging music for movie soundtracks.
The contemporary musical instrument was developed in 1952 by the brothers Bernard and FranASSois Baschet. Metal perches are incorporated within a ponderous illustration to form the elements. Each metal baton is complemented by an attached glass rod. The metal rod’s length, weight and berth at the stability pitch influence the sound’s pitch. The glass rod is gently stroked with a rain paw to produce sound.
