Coldplay have repelled off challenger from Robbie Williams to compose their eighth consecutive UK number one album.

Their new LP, Everyday Life, pulsated the former Take That singer’s new festive collect The Christmas Present.

Coldplay composed 81,000 graph auctions this week, while Williams sold 67,000.

That establishes the band the third fastest-selling album of its first year, behind Ed Sheeran’s No. 6 Collaborations Project and Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.

All eight of Coldplay’s albums – from their 2000 introduction Parachutes to now – have topped the book charts.
