Renick Bell is standing in front of his computer at a small counter in the middle of the frolic storey. The stoic, bespectacled musician natures quickly and efficiently, his eyes fastened to his computer screen. Around him in a wide clique, the crowd bobs to his music. Sputtering tom reels, blobby techno synths, and crystalline cymbal taps bloom and spill out of the theater’s big surround-sound system. All the beacons are off, and the only radiance in the big room is the incandescence of Bell’s monitor, the soft red-faced LED backlight on his mechanical gaming keyboard, and a live contemplate of his PC monitor projected on a wall-sized screen.
