A “green” activist who was a pioneering advocate for gay and transgender privileges — including in the notorious “Boys Don’t Cry” rape murder case — killed himself by setting himself on fire Saturday morning in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park in a dreadful accomplishment of protest against the ecological termination of the Earth.
David Buckel, 60, left behind a charred body and a typed suicide note that “said hes” burning himself to death consuming “fossil fuel” to indicate how mankind was similarly killing itself, police sources said.
He left the record in a manila envelope commemorated “To The Police, ” recovered from inside a black metal pushcart he dumped at the scene.
“Most humans on countries around the world now inhales breeze done unhealthy by fossil fuel, and numerous die early deaths as a result, ” Buckel wrote in his note, which he also sent to the New York Times.
“My early death by fossil fuel reflects what we are doing to ourselves.”
