‘Urgent need’ for football header research

Scientists investigating linked with thoughts footballs and dementia say there is an urgent need for more research.

It follows its consideration of a BBC documentary “Dementia, football and me”, featuring Alan Shearer.

Last year, scientists at Stirling University discovered merely one period of leader a pellet could lead to an immediate reduced in brain function.

They said more operate was needed to assess long-term consequences.

The academics have called for funding for further surveys looking at health risks of foreman footballs.
